In Texas, Aggravated Robbery occurs in one of three ways:
The first occurs when a person uses or exhibits a Deadly Weapon in the course of a robbery; in Texas Armed Robbery is called Aggravated Robbery. The second occurs when the Robbery results in Serious Bodily Injury. The third is when a person commits a Robbery against an individual who is 65 years-old or older.
Each type of Aggravated Robbery is a FIRST DEGREE FELONY and carries a punishment range of 5 to 99 years or LIFE in prison and a fine up to $10,000.00.
